Standing as a monumental wall on Sunset Boulevard, the building is a promenade of experiences. It transitions the visitors from the busy street to an atmospheric interior. The project put an emphasis on the relationship between materials and space granting the mundane rooms to accommodate the bathhouse guest. Through studying bathing culture and historical bathhouses, the design brings together old tradition, contemporary materials, and consideration of the Los Angeles context.
